Help Our Cause

In 2013 Southern Nevada Police and Fire agency bagpipers and drummers realized they were playing the same events. So they decided to join under a unified Emerald Society banner. The intent was to lend support amongst all the agencies involved and be a force multiper when performing at various events. The realization that a bagpipe and drum band, composed of mostly first reponders, would eventually be serving Police and Firefighter  funerals was always at the forefront. This was evident when Alyn Beck & Igor Solodo were killed the following year in the Line of Duty.

The vision of the Las Vegas Emerald Society is to continually support First Responder agencies for Memorial and funeral services. Additionally we interact  with the community & other organizations during charitable events, while raising awareness to and furthering the Celtic Culture and Arts. As we grow in demand the costs of attending events will also grow. The support afforded by individualsand  organizations such as yours will not only help us meet our current goal, but will also help propel The Las Vegas Emerald Society Pipe & Drum band into the future

Currently  our immediate goal is a fundraising effort that allows band members to attend Police Week;         memorials in both Carson City, Nevada and Washington DC. The Las Vegas Emerald Society has participated in these memorials for several years and the demand for our participation, especially at the National level, continues to grow. Likewise, the need for continued financial support is also in demand.  While the gift of musical inspiration comes from the heart and at no cost, the expenses accrued by each individual member can be steep. Every time a musician steps onto the field for an event they carry with them $2,500 worth of expenses and over 5000 hours of their own time invested in learning and perfecting a craft. The Las Vegas Emerald Society presents over 10,000 hours of knowledge and Community Service provided via neighborhood events, school functions, children's arts & culture workshops, as well as private events.
